Winter Hair and Makeup Trends

Welcome back to the blog, beauties! First off, we hope everyone is staying warm and toasty during the cold weather. This is such a beautiful time as the snow falls and everyone gets bundled up. Winter is definitely HERE! And we at Blossom & Beauty want to highlight some winter hair and makeup trends to keep you all looking fabulous and winter-ready when you step out of the house!

First, think about the event you are attending. Holiday parties, work functions, and special events for wintertime all call for a little more pizzazz. Make sure you also think about your ensemble as you prepare to do your hair and makeup. Try not to get too matchy-matchy with everything you are doing; there IS such a thing as “too much”. Wearing something extravagant and eye catching? Keep everything else minimal and focus in on the eyes with your makeup. Wanting to feature some new jewelry? Consider an updo so that you can make your face shine whilst being surrounded by glitz.

Our Portland logistics guru, Kerry, is featured in the photo and shows off exactly what we are talking about! Her eyes come to life with a shimmer, and her lips make a bold statement. Another option is to add color to your eyelids and keep your lip color to a lighter shade. At Blossom & Beauty we always give our brides additional lashes to bring even more life to their eyes, think about doing this for your big winter looks, too!

Third, when looking at hair, winter time calls for intricate details or simple sweeping looks. We love adding braids into a look and featuring intricate colors of the hair or the luxurious shine of someone’s strands. Not sure what to do, check out one of our most recent Instagram posts for hairspiration! Mimic the falling snow and bring in big, swooping curls. Or, like Kerry, draw more attention to the neckline and facial structure by going more minimal. This is achieved by bringing the hair back off of the face, and making the look more voluminous at the nape of the neck.

Finally, remember that the best way to approach any new look is with positivity and daring! You are all so beautiful and it doesn’t take much to bring that out in your hair and makeup. Think about highlighting your natural features and adding some sparkle this winter! Need some additional makeup guidance?
